You hid there last time, you know we’re gonna find you
Sick in the car seat, ’cause you’re not up to going
Out on the main streets, completing your mission

So I’m finally done with the Nike Cup, and it’s been a great time shooting. There were tough times, there were good times, and there were really fucked up times. But all in all I’d consider it a very good part of my learning, and I’m glad I had the chance to do it. No pictures yet, cause I can’t release them just yet, but when I get the green light, I’ll post up my Nike Cup journey.
Plus, the photos are available at NikeMY’s Facebook page, so head on over there, click like, and check out the photos. Some are mine, some are Kinz’s.
Anyway, I dug out my dad’s old SLR, a Minolta X-700, and fiddled with it. Decided to buy batteries for that thing, and pop in a roll of film, and test it out. It’s quite a big difference, going from a DSLR to an SLR with no AF. I had to rely solely on the meter for exposure, and half the time I wasn’t really confident with my settings (shutter speed, basically). The focusing is also quite tedious, since I’m not used to it, but the split focusing screen helps a lot. Just takes time, I suppose. Aside from that, I do enjoy the full 35mm experience, and 50mm is a pretty neat focal length to play with.

All in all, it is a fun thing to do, but I won’t be snapping away with it like I do with my DSLR, since I have to buy film, and send it in for processing, which takes up money, and can run up to be pretty expensive if I go crazy with it.
So yeah, enough talk, here are the pictures. I’m putting in the whole roll (26 pictures) since it’s not that many pictures to begin with. Hahaha.

If this post took a long time to load, or ate up your bandwith, well then.. sucks to be you ;)
