Wait, they don’t love you like I love you.
Maps – Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Went down to Melaka on Saturday with Kin Meng to shoot a wedding. It was a two-day event, so we stayed overnight in a nearby homestay house (redundant?). It was quite fun, quite tiring, a little frustrating at a certain point, but overall a very good experience, and something that I can definitely build on in the future.
Now it’s on to the editing, culling, and short-listing of photos to see which can make it to the album. Oh say say say.

My Sunshine – Tiffany Alvord
So my mum volunteered me to take photos for my cousin’s wedding, which somewhat took me by surprise, but I did it anyway. It was a good experience, as I’ve never shot a Malay wedding, plus this was a traditional one, so it was very interesting. Not my best performance though, even with all my gear and stuff, but I think I did okay.
Oh, and I’ve decided on a style for my wedding photographs (if I do any more, anyways), and it’s going to be documentary-like photos. Not those staged, posed, perfect pictures (though I would love to do those), but more candids and capture-the-moments kind of photos.
I’m sorting through the photos now, since I’m going to make an album to give the couple I’ve sorted the photos, submitted them for printing, finished one album and am waiting on another. Here are some from the first day.

And the photographer, in Baju Melayu
(Not something I would do unless necessary. It was so hot!)

Second day photos :D

Whoa it’s been a very long but interesting journey. And I’ve another wedding coming up. Hmmmm
The title is in no way a jibe at the colours of the people I photographed, which incidentally were more brown (like me) than black.
Congratulations to Niro and Tash, and thank you for inviting me to shoot the wedding.
I must say it was a challenge as I only had my ultimate basic kit: 40d + 24-70 L + 580ex2
