People Told Me Slow My Road, I’m Screaming Out Fuck That

Tell me what you know about dreams, dreams.
Tell me what you know about night terrors, nothin’.
You don’t really care about the trials of tomorrow,
Rather lay awake in a bed full of sorrow.

Pursuit of Happiness (Kid Cudi Cover) – Lissie

As a Mac Whore, I am guilty of wanting the latest and greatest, though I don’t always get it. So for now, I’m settling on iOS4 for my iPhone 3gs. The update was released last night at 1 a.m., but due to Streamyx’s lack of competent, reliable, and stable service, I was forced to re-download the update twice (both of which failed), before giving up and letting it download overnight, deciding to not wait for it in hopes of success.

I woke up at about 6.30, and saw that it was a successful download (fewh) and then proceeded to update my phone. Took a little longer than I expected, because it had to backup and stuff. I think total time was about 10 minutes or so (though it felt like forever). Anyway. iOS4, hey. The best feature so far is the folders, which help keep my phone from looking cluttered. I now have only two pages, and even then both are not full.

Then there’s Windows Live Messenger for the iPhone. Which is free to boot! Hahaha. I’ve never really liked all those third party programs like eBuddy, or BeeJive, or whatever else. Mostly it’s because they have ugly icons. I kinda like nice looking icons. The official WLM app’s icon is pretty decent, though I felt that it could be better. But whatever. I waited a while for this, so I’m giving it a spin now.

So yeah, that’s about it. It kinda felt anticlimactic when I finished the update process (I expected angels going “aaaaaah ooooooh aaaaah” and trumpets signaling the completion of a pretty damn highly anticipated update), but I’m glad it’s out of the way. Some things I’ve noticed:

– Camera is snappier, and the 5x zoom works, but the pictures look like they were taken through a coke bottle dragged through sand
– Everything is multitasking, even Settings, Messages (kinda weird seeing them there)
– The dock looks like the desktop OSX dock, which is nice.
