Now I’m feelin so fly like a G6
Like a G6 – Far East Movement
Some time ago I went down to Melaka with Kin Meng and Kwee Jin to look at some locations to shoot. We left at about 9.30 am, and it was a pretty straight forward route to Pantai Puteri. It’s not much of a beach in terms of scenery and stuff, but it was decent. The trees there were pretty nice. Can’t say the same about the water and the sunset view though (although the sunset may have been sucky due to the heavy clouds in the area at the moment).
Anyways, aside from checking out the beach, we also went to the tourist trap place a.k.a Jonker Street. Personally, I see nothing special about the place. It’s hot, crowded, and you have to lineup for everything. Being a city boy, I don’t really enjoy this, and I don’t see the point. I wouldn’t queue for half an hour to eat cendol, but whatever, horses for courses.
We brought along our umbrellas and flashes and triggers, and tested the place out. It was an interesting experience, and i’m looking forward to shooting there soon.

My Sunshine – Tiffany Alvord
So my mum volunteered me to take photos for my cousin’s wedding, which somewhat took me by surprise, but I did it anyway. It was a good experience, as I’ve never shot a Malay wedding, plus this was a traditional one, so it was very interesting. Not my best performance though, even with all my gear and stuff, but I think I did okay.
Oh, and I’ve decided on a style for my wedding photographs (if I do any more, anyways), and it’s going to be documentary-like photos. Not those staged, posed, perfect pictures (though I would love to do those), but more candids and capture-the-moments kind of photos.
I’m sorting through the photos now, since I’m going to make an album to give the couple I’ve sorted the photos, submitted them for printing, finished one album and am waiting on another. Here are some from the first day.

And the photographer, in Baju Melayu
(Not something I would do unless necessary. It was so hot!)

Second day photos :D

Whoa it’s been a very long but interesting journey. And I’ve another wedding coming up. Hmmmm
