By the way, if you happen to have the chance to watch Cuci2, the musical, do watch it. It’s worth paying what you have to pay to watch it.

When I’m With You – Best Coast

Today was a pretty interesting day, in that I spent most of it at home, cleaning up, getting rid of things, and generally occupying myself so that my mind does not work. I was kind of like a drone, of sorts. Managed to get rid of a huge chunk of useless clutter in my room, and with that I threw away a huge chunk of my past as well. I decided that I’l be damned if I kept them. It was kind of liberating, in a sense. Some things dated back to my high-school years. Of course, the important ones were kept, but most of the useless trifle were thrown away.

Then I went out, and after a while of driving, I found myself getting the urge to run. This was at midnight, mind you, so I was kind of surprised at myself. In the end I relented to the urge, and dropped by KK Mart to get a bottle of 100plus, just so that I won’t back out on myself. Then after going home to change and stuff, I ran. I decided to go with monotony, instead of challenge, so I ran at the park near my house. It was very invigorating, and I felt really good afterwards.

So yeah, there you go. A 5km run at 1am, in the park. Oh, and I ran topless. I figured since it was so late at night, I might as well run comfortably. It was fun, and the only people I met were the security guards doing their rounds, but they just waved and smiled at me when they saw me.

Steady, As She Goes – The Raconteurs

The past week has been interesting, with quite a fair bit of things going on.

It was 8TV’s Showdown 2010 Finals at KL Live, and I felt it was a good show, though I wanted GBC to win instead of Wakaka, but hey, that’s life. I went there without a camera, so no pictures. Yeah, I know, no camera?! Gile ke? Hahaha. I wanted to enjoy the show, not busy myself with a camera, so that’s what I did.

I went for a haircut. After much internal debate, I decided to relent and cut my hair short. As usual, I went into a funk right after the haircut, getting used to having my head feel so light was never easy. It was also the day Canon called me up and told me to collect my package.

I finally met up with my long-lost #bromance partner #fatbro Kinz for some work which needed to be done. We headed on to Village Nasi Lemak at Uptown for lunch, then headed to Papa Rich to do our work. Whilst waiting for the DVDs to finish burning, we came up with a crazy notion of buying a PS3 and Rockband. We were so excited about it that we actually called up shops and enquired about the prices, and we decided (with the help of my dad, whom I called to ask for permission) to go get it that night itself.

We hit our first snag at the ATM, and we were both feeling quite let down. Went back home, and I discussed some terms with my dad, and hey ho, I got the green light to spend. Hahahah. Called Kinz up, and we headed over to Pertama Complex to buy the PS3, Band Hero, and Guitar Hero 5. They didn’t have what we wanted, which was The Beatles Rockband, but whatever. Andrew came over with Sarah, and we played BH and GH5 all through the night.

I went out with Nicole, and teman-ed her shoot a mini concert in Rawang, which was pretty interesting. It’s been a while since I shot kids, and it caught me off guard. I underestimated them, and overestimated my skill. Hahahahah. I’m not saying I got bad pictures, but I could’ve done better, definitely.

But I’m glad to say I wasn’t at all shy in calling people’s attention to my camera to get a shot :D

So I’m finally done with the Nike Cup, and it’s been a great time shooting. There were tough times, there were good times, and there were really fucked up times. But all in all I’d consider it a very good part of my learning, and I’m glad I had the chance to do it. No pictures yet, cause I can’t release them just yet, but when I get the green light, I’ll post up my Nike Cup journey.

Plus, the photos are available at NikeMY’s Facebook page, so head on over there, click like, and check out the photos. Some are mine, some are Kinz’s.

Anyway, I dug out my dad’s old SLR, a Minolta X-700, and fiddled with it. Decided to buy batteries for that thing, and pop in a roll of film, and test it out. It’s quite a big difference, going from a DSLR to an SLR with no AF. I had to rely solely on the meter for exposure, and half the time I wasn’t really confident with my settings (shutter speed, basically). The focusing is also quite tedious, since I’m not used to it, but the split focusing screen helps a lot. Just takes time, I suppose. Aside from that, I do enjoy the full 35mm experience, and 50mm is a pretty neat focal length to play with.

All in all, it is a fun thing to do, but I won’t be snapping away with it like I do with my DSLR, since I have to buy film, and send it in for processing, which takes up money, and can run up to be pretty expensive if I go crazy with it.

So yeah, enough talk, here are the pictures. I’m putting in the whole roll (26 pictures) since it’s not that many pictures to begin with. Hahaha.

If this post took a long time to load, or ate up your bandwith, well then.. sucks to be you ;)
