People Told Me Slow My Road, I’m Screaming Out Fuck That

Tell me what you know about dreams, dreams.
Tell me what you know about night terrors, nothin’.
You don’t really care about the trials of tomorrow,
Rather lay awake in a bed full of sorrow.

Pursuit of Happiness (Kid Cudi Cover) – Lissie

As a Mac Whore, I am guilty of wanting the latest and greatest, though I don’t always get it. So for now, I’m settling on iOS4 for my iPhone 3gs. The update was released last night at 1 a.m., but due to Streamyx’s lack of competent, reliable, and stable service, I was forced to re-download the update twice (both of which failed), before giving up and letting it download overnight, deciding to not wait for it in hopes of success.

I woke up at about 6.30, and saw that it was a successful download (fewh) and then proceeded to update my phone. Took a little longer than I expected, because it had to backup and stuff. I think total time was about 10 minutes or so (though it felt like forever). Anyway. iOS4, hey. The best feature so far is the folders, which help keep my phone from looking cluttered. I now have only two pages, and even then both are not full.

Then there’s Windows Live Messenger for the iPhone. Which is free to boot! Hahaha. I’ve never really liked all those third party programs like eBuddy, or BeeJive, or whatever else. Mostly it’s because they have ugly icons. I kinda like nice looking icons. The official WLM app’s icon is pretty decent, though I felt that it could be better. But whatever. I waited a while for this, so I’m giving it a spin now.

So yeah, that’s about it. It kinda felt anticlimactic when I finished the update process (I expected angels going “aaaaaah ooooooh aaaaah” and trumpets signaling the completion of a pretty damn highly anticipated update), but I’m glad it’s out of the way. Some things I’ve noticed:

– Camera is snappier, and the 5x zoom works, but the pictures look like they were taken through a coke bottle dragged through sand
– Everything is multitasking, even Settings, Messages (kinda weird seeing them there)
– The dock looks like the desktop OSX dock, which is nice.

And So It Is

Just like you said it would be,
Life goes easy on me,
Most of the time.

Blower’s Daughter – Damien Rice

I came across something pretty touching and sad on facebook the other day, and it made me realise that up until now, and hopefully far into the future, through dark and dreary days, I have something that I can call a family, and smile. The nonsense that we get up to sometimes, I hardly see it happen with other families.

We had a father’s day lunch just now at this Chinese Muslim (I think) place somewhere in KJ, and the food was pretty decent. It’s been a while since I saw most of the family. Nice to see most things didn’t change, and it was great to be able to crack lame, stupid and sometimes witty remarks. It’s been a while, like I said.

Then we headed home and mum wanted to take a family picture, since dah lama tak ambik. Last time we did this was during Raya ’08 I think. So yeah, we got to it. And then we had some fun too :D

To those who are fathers, happy father’s day! To those that still have fathers, cherish them.
To those that have lost fathers, remember them.

Little Lion Man – Mumford and Sons

So last week I was shooting in Sentul, and this week I shot at the LRT station in Pandan Indah, and it was a pretty whacked session. There was sun, rain, and sun, which of course messed with my body. Saturday was the interesting one, with nice weather starting the day, then gradually becoming cloudy, and then rain started to pour. After about 45 minutes of rain, the sun decided to pop back out again. I went home that day feeling deathly, and thank god I was feeling way better today to shoot.

Both Kinz and I were shooting in the rain, with black rubbish bags over our cameras

And Kinz took it to new heights today by standing on ledges protruding from the LRT station.

No Longer Mocha

Two weeks of intense shooting in the sun has changed me. I’m no longer a nice shade of mocha. I’m on my way to becoming black coffee. Bah! Kin Meng is also suffering the same fate, though his transition is yellow to brown. Hahahahaha! :D
